When Valent USA, a chemical manufacturer for the agriculture sector in North America, embarked on its SAP transformation in collaboration with its parent company in Japan, it hoped to find a partner to both start and grow with. That partner would need to devise a long-term strategy while also building a self-sufficient, in-house SAP support organization. American Digital became their clear choice, able to provide PMO consulting throughout implementation and identify their best path forward.
This began with White Glove Managed Services for SAP Basis along with a security solution to maintain the company’s existing helpdesk as the user’s main point of contact. American Digital then provided ongoing security administration and project-based senior consulting. We worked with our client to roll out OCR functionalities and enable scan recognition primarily for MM and SD modules.
Soon, one of Valent’s six group companies, all of which would eventually be using the SAP platform, was integrated to begin using S/4HANA as its main ERP system. Noting several pain points at the SAP and HANA levels, we were also able to raise a formal proposal to resolve those. This led to a disaster recovery scenario that provided flawless system replication for SAP S/4HANA and HANA DB across various locations—from Japan to the U.S. and Canada.
American Digital helped Valent not only synthesize and test its disaster recovery to address its immediate needs but also helped the company establish SAP BASIS and security service standards and processes along with CSAT metric enhancement framework for the long term. In the end, our client was overjoyed by the results, particularly in our ability to remain undefeated in their on-call support—with SAP/DB systems never off based on surveillance. Beyond this, American Digital was able to provide uninterrupted response faster than our Service Level Agreement required. Given such exceptional and timely responses, we became a pivotal player in their successful completion of the J-SoX audit.
