American Digital Earns SOC2 Compliance in 2020

Elk Grove Village, Illinois – August 21, 2020

American Digital today announced that it has successfully completed the 2020 SOC2 compliance renewal by meeting all criteria of AICPA which includes meeting all security related requirements and passing an impartial audit. As American Digital continues to build a thriving Managed Services practice, the SOC2 certification provides their Fortune 2000 clients comfort in knowing they have tried and true processes that keep clients’ data secure.

As more enterprises outsource their core business operations through SaaS or cloud-based service models, it’s critical that their IT solutions partner have in place stringent information practices, procedures, and policies designed to protect sensitive client data. SOC2 certification evaluates those to offer a new level of assurance.

SOC2 is an auditing procedure developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) to certify that a company’s information security practices align with the best interests of its clients. To achieve compliance, a company must have written security policies and procedures covering its Five Trust Service Principles. Outside auditors then use those as a guide when assessing a service provider’s compliance in each area. The Five Trust Service Principles include:

Security: This refers to protection measures in place to prevent unauthorized access, system abuse, software misuse, data theft, unauthorized data alteration, or unauthorized data disclosure.

Availability: This refers to a system, service, or product’s ability to meet minimum accessibility performance level standards as outlined in their contract or service level agreement.

Processing Integrity: This refers to a system’s ability to achieve its intended purpose by processing data timely, accurately, and completely.

Confidentiality: This refers to the vendor’s ability to protect data confidentiality while in transmission.

Privacy: This refers to the system’s ability to maintain the privacy of personally identifiable information during collection, use, disclosure, retention, and disposal based on its privacy notice and the AICPA’s Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP).

“Since achieving our original SOC2 certification in 2019, our services business has grown more than 30%. Enterprise clients require their service partners to value safe, secure processes. American Digital values the data of each client and is excited to have met the requirements for SOC2 again in 2020”, said Yvette Holt, Director of Professional Services, with American Digital. “This certification ensures that our systems and operational procedures are set up to offer optimal security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.”
